About Jaime

Jaime Graves, LCSWWelcome to my therapy practice.  Choosing a therapist is a very important and difficult first step in your therapeutic journey. As your therapist, I will take the time to get to know you and understand the struggles that have brought you to therapy.  I believe that therapy is a collaborative process in which therapist and client work together to develop a relationship of trust and safety.  I am dedicated to helping you understand the challenges you or your loved one is facing and to developing a plan of action to better support you through these challenges.  I utilize both my education and experience to provide a safe and nurturing environment to help guide you through the therapeutic process.

I am a dedicated, compassionate, and empathetic professional with over 18 years of experience working in various mental health settings. My work history includes individual, group and family counseling as well as providing mental health assessments, in-home and outpatient therapeutic services for high risk youth and their families, and collaboration with school personnel, doctors, psychiatrists, and other community resources. I tailor treatment plans to meet my client’s specific needs utilizing several therapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapies including Exposure and Response Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, experiential therapy, behavior modification, and psycho-education.

Education and Certifications

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Administration from California State University, Sacramento in 1998 and a Master of Science in Social Work from California State University Sacramento in 2004.  As part of my master’s program, I completed a thesis project entitled “Manual for a Psychoeducational Support Group for Parents of At-Risk Youth”.  I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of California, in June 2012 (LCSW # 28611).  To keep current in my areas of expertise, I participate in ongoing continuing education courses.
